Expo Highlights

 

It is Australia's largest bead show! Exhibitors from Australia - wide selling beads, gems and findings come to the Expo each year.

 

See an exciting range of hand crafted beads, gemstones, seed beads, findings and all jewellery related creative supplies, all under the one roof.

 

We also have inspiring exhibitions of Bead Society of Victoria members' work, which gets bigger and better each year. See above right one of the 2017 winners from the Members' Original Jewellery section.

Expo 2018 Workshops  

 

 Australian MistAll workshops are now listed so you can book online. Many different mediums available with something to suit all skill levels.

 

Bookings open to members first on July 14.

General public bookings open July 28.

 

Don't miss out on the opportunity to explore new skills as classes often fill quickly.

We will welcome our International tutor Liisa Turunen to Melbourne this year and know she has a fabulous selection of classes for us, including the Australian Mist, an exclusive release designed for us.

  

A variety of workshops are on offer, with some held the weekend prior to the Expo, and on Cup Day, in the Boyd room at Carnegie Library.

 

Workshops held on the Expo days will be located on campus at the Holmesglen Institute in the Corporate Suites, a short distance away from the Expo. Some also held in Conference Centre rooms.

Restricted free parking is available to International tutor workshop participants for the duration of their session over the Expo weekend. Specific details will supplied in your confirmation email and closer to the event.

 

Members' Exhibition

 

The Bead Society of Victoria hosts member only competitions for the Melbourne Bead Expo. Only available to current BSV members, competitions are a great way to stretch your creative muscles and apply yourself in new ways. 

Our traditional Showcase competition Members' Original Jewellery always attracts fabulous pieces. 

Don't miss the chance to create an individual bead based on the 2018 theme of "Love is in the Air".

 

All exhibition sections on display at the Expo with many truly artistic pieces for sale.

 

Registrations open July 1 - Pieces to be handed in at the October 14 meeting.

Bead Challenge 2018

 

Something a little different to inspire your creativity, with a lovely mixed basic collection of metal components, interesting Czech shaped beads and semi-precious hematite rounds added for some shine and weight.


Bring a fabulous piece to life with your own choice of extra beads, colours, or findings using your own favourite techniques.


Open to everyone, not just members.
