    DVA BEADED BEADS

These pretty beaded beads make up quickly and can become quite addictive to make. They are totally self-supporting and once created can be used to make necklaces, pendants, earrings and more. They use Super Duo 2-hole beads and 2-hole triangle beads. The name Dva comes from the Czech word from ‘two’ so its my way to honor the homeland of the two-hole beads we use – the Czech republic. I first designed them after a fabulous beady visit there.

    PETRONA BEADED BEADS

You will learn how to create the delightful self- supporting beaded bead. This is a great project to extend skills in creating beaded shapes. The beaded beads will vary in length depending on the choice of beads you make.

Petrona: The stylish Petrona beaded beads were inspired by the amazing structures of the Petrona Towers building in Kuala Lumpar and their shapes can add a point of difference to your jewellery designs. The completed beaded beads are self-supporting and can be used to make necklaces, pendants, earrings and more and we’ll look at how to vary the length of the bead so you can create wonderfully long or short beads to add diversity to your designs. The beads are relatively quick to make so you’ll be able create your own jewellery with them in no time at all.

    SKILL LEVEL:

Do you want your bead embroidery designs begin to take flight?  Come along to this class with Catriona and bring to life your very own bead embroidered Butterfly.  This beautiful butterfly pendant is made by capturing a Swarovski pear with a peyote bezel and then embellished with bead embroidered wings.

The pendant will be taught in this six-hour workshop over two three-hour sessions.  The first session will cover learning to bezel your pear Swarovski crystal, how to build the fluttering wings, bead placement and various embroidery techniques.

Between sessions, students will be required to complete some homework so that during the second session we can work on construction and finishing.  Please do not expect to complete your brooch in the class.  Students will be provided with full PDF step by step instructions, including photographs to help you complete your butterfly at your own pace.  All parts of the pendant will be demonstrated during the sessions and Catriona is in email contact after the class for any questions you may have completing your piece.
