This seaside adventure starts in the Mornington Peninsula’s very own Shark Bay, now known as Safety Beach.  After a storm, sea urchins washed up on the sand and were collected by one of our BSV members Sue.

Come along and make your own Treasures of Shark Bay necklace using real sea urchins which have been lovingly cleaned and strengthened ready to bead with.  Students will use a combination of Japanese and Czech Glass beads to make this large statement piece.

Techniques covered in class are Bead embroidery including learning to bezel around a sea urchin and how to back your work.  The components edged with brick stitch and are joined with Peyote stitch.  Instruction will also be provided for a herringbone rope with pearl bead inserts plus a herringbone toggle.
