DANIELLE CUFF: Learn to make this beautiful cuff with Meg! Ever looked at beautiful fabric and wondered what you can do with it? This cuff takes that wondering and turns it into a stunning cuff where amazing fabrics are part of the feature for once! Bezel a Rivoli and utilise shaped beads and cup chain to create dimension and sparkle on some gorgeous fancy fabrics. This design can be made using a metal cuff blank or with a clasp.
Whilst this project is unlikely to be finished in class, every step is demonstrated and detailed instructions provided so students can finish at home.
TECHNIQUES: Students will learn
• How to bezel a Rivoli in bead embroidery
• Basic bead embroidery stitches/techniques
• How to work with cup chain
• How to incorporate shaped beads
• Covering beading foundation in feature fabrics
• Two finishing options: working over a metal cuff blank or using a clasp (both options demonstrated)
• How to size the cuff if using the clasp option (will be demonstrated no matter the student’s finishing choice)
SKILL LEVEL: Knowledge of bead embroidery advantageous but not essential. Previous experience in peyote stich advantageous.
