2020 Theme: “Colours of the Rainbow”
By now, we are all familiar with the rainbow as a symbol of hope during the Covid-19 crisis.
There is an undeniable effect of enchantment caused by the appearance of a rainbow. The view is often breathtaking and exciting, often leaving spectators breathless or pensive.
Symbolism of the rainbow. The rainbow is a comprised of seven different colours. Each of these colours is vibrant and beautiful, and each one is different than the next. This conveys a beautiful message of inclusiveness and cohesion. It demonstrates how beautiful diversity can be.
Consideration will be given to the following
Effective interpretation of the theme
Colour and design appeal.
Entries must be identifiable as a bead, with the ability to be strung using a hole that is integral in the design. Cabochons will not be accepted, even if adapted for stringing. Your bead must be no larger than 8 cm in any dimension.
This bead must be the member’s original design and work, made since the last Expo in 2019.
Beads can be made in any one or combination of media, for example glass, metal, polymer clay, felt, clay, wood, or beaded etc.
Items which have appeared in other competitions, whether in Australia or overseas are not eligible. Posting of entry images on public media prior to the competition is not permitted.
Prizes are:
Individual Handmade Bead: 1st Prize $150
A maximum of three (3) entries per member.

Results will be announced on the Sunday afternoon 8 November 2020 at the 2020 Bead Expo.
Winners will be notified by email or phone (if number provided) within three days of the Bead Expo ending. The results will also be announced on the BSV website and Facebook page as soon as practicable.
